Hockey Academy-École Secondaire Notre Dame High School

The Hockey Academy’s mission is to support student learning, ice hockey skills fitness training, enhancing sports performance, motivation, sports etiquette and sports psychology. Our program is developed for hockey athletes, Grade 10-12, looking to bring their game and their training to a new level. On average, students are on the ice three times a week developing their hockey skills.

Under the guidance of a professional experienced coach and a goal-tending instructor, they work on skating techniques, puck control, shooting, defensive play, and creativity.

Our Program

• Is based on scientifically proven methods effective in creating greater athleticism
• Will increase your speed, power, flexibility, nutritional knowledge, and overall fitness
• Will educate you on how to train effectively, minimize injury and maximize your fitness
• Will expose you to possible careers associated with your sport passion

• Program participants are required to pay a fee of up to $700 (subject to change based on ice and off-ice costs). This is strictly a cost recovery fee designed to cover facility rental and travel. $700.00 is due at registration

Meet the Academy Instructor

Erik Lodge

Erik Lodge

The Lead Instructor for the Hockey Academy is Erik Lodge. Erik comes with an outstanding hockey Resume. He has played professionally in both Europe and North America. Erik has competed and won at every level including a Royal Bank Cup, Allan Cup, and Queen’s Cup. Erik is a member of the mentorship team for Red Deer Minor Hockey and has coached at the Midget AAA level.

Ball Academy-St. Joseph High School

Our Baseball/Softball Academy will help you achieve these goals so you can make the team next season.

Our academy offers students an opportunity to participate in a high school course that is more specific than a regular Physical Education class.

We are looking for novice to elite-level student-athletes to come and join us! This course is based on student interest.

Our Program

• Is based on proven methods effective in creating greater athleticism.

• Will help improve your catching, pitching and hitting skills, while improving your game play.

• Will educate you on how to train effectively, minimize injury and maximize your overall fitness.

• Involves a block a day of instruction, focusing on skill development, nutrition, specific sports training.

Jason Chatwood

Jason Chatwood

Jason Chatwood grew up playing Minor Baseball in Innisfail and Red Deer. He was a member of the 2003 Team Alberta U-16 Western Canada Summer Games (Silver) and U-17 Canada Cup (Silver).

• 2004 Team Alberta Canada Cup (Silver) and went to Team Canada/MLB Top Prospects camp in Montreal.

• 2005 Member of Team Alberta at the Canada Summer Games (Bronze).

• Attended Colby Community College 2006/2007. (Holds the single season hits record and the career hits record at Colby Community College)

• 2006-2007 2nd Team All -Jayhawk Conference Second Baseman

• 2007 Unanimous All- Jayhawk Conference Second Baseman, Unanimous All- Region IV Second Baseman, Region IV Gold Glove Winner, 3rd Team All- American and Academic All- American

• Current coach of the Sylvan Lake Gulls

Scott Murray is a Red Deer Minor Baseball graduate 1978-1988.

• 10 Provincial Championships
• 1 National Championship
• General Manager 2000-2004
• Coached in Red Deer Rage Association 2010- Current
• Current Head Coach of U16A Rage
• Coached in Red Deer Minor Baseball Association 2012- Current
• Pee Wee AAA Head Coach 2017
